Can St Nicholas become an ‘E-co Church’?
Alan Pendleton asked at the AGM;
“ What does the Church offer to its Parishioners?”
the PCC want our parishioners to know we are engaging in the battle to save this planet we believe was created by the God we worship each week.
To start this campaign the PCC has decided that in future;
; 1.all communications will be on recycled paper. This is
almost twice the price we presently pay, we will try to
reduce our usage by improving our technology!
2. we will buy recycled toilet rolls, more expensive and
maybe not popular with small puppies (Andrex?) BUT!
…3. all recyclable waste should be placed in the container in
the kitchen clearly labeled for that purpose.
4. the use of plastic cups will cease. Even disposable
paper cups & plates should be limited as we have yet to
see the technology to ensure all recycled material is put
to good use!
The PCC is continuing research into;
1. our use of power and how much of it comes from
2. a source of liquid soap which can be dispensed from
The PCC welcomes ideas from the Parish to help us move further along the path to gaining status as an Eco-Church. Should ‘In Touch’ provide and invite regular ‘Eco-tips’?
It was said of Christians
“…by their actions you will know them”
The Parish will see WHAT we are doing and WHY via our Website; Facebook; Middleton News and YOU! But they
also should each one of us personally working not just to make us an Eco-Church but to becoming an Eco-Parish!
