St Nicholas Church Finances

St Nicholas Church, like all Parish Churches, is responsible for providing sufficient funds to operate the church and to pay for an incumbent.

We are constantly working hard to raise sufficient funds to cover these costs.

Currently, it costs in the region of 60,000 a year

Funds for our day to day operation are raised from regular giving by church members and from fund-raising activities like the May Fair, Christmas Market and the 50-50 Draw Club and from fees from weddings and funerals.

If there are major repairs needed special appeals are made.

The Planned Giving and Gift Aid Schemes

The Planned Giving Scheme enables donors to make a regular contribution to the Church. Members of the scheme can use a regular bank standing-order or a numbered weekly envelope which is put into the collection bag. The Gift Aid Scheme allows the Church to recover tax on contributions made by UK tax payers. This can be used regularly by filling in a Gift Aid Declaration form or for a one off contribution by using a Gift Aid envelope, which can be found in the church entrance lobby.

Bequests

Bequests are very welcome and are gratefully appreciated.

More details on any of these schemes can be obtained by speaking to Colin Greaves
