Take a Walk thru’ Holy Week

Whether the ‘Lent-in-a-Bag’ has been part of your preparation for Easter or not taking this walk (with or without family, dogs or buggies) through the graveyard of St. Nicholas Church in Elmer Road will be a very ‘covid’ safe way to help you celebrate all that the message of Easter Day offers us all.

From mid-day on Palm Sunday (28th March) like the pilgrims of old you can collect your palm crosses from under the lych gate. Then following the arrows visit the wayside stops telling of all the people Jesus met and talked with during that final week of his time living amongst people just like us.

Until Easter Day your walk will end at the tomb where the body of the dead Jesus lay.  It was firmly closed and guarded by order of Pontius Pilate!  So did the story end there?  If you take that walk again on or after Sunday April 4th you may find a power greater than a Roman Governor has been at work!

PS; you might like to bring a posy or small plant on your second visit to leave outside the tomb!
